City of Byrnes Mill

Candidate Filing for April 3, 2018 Election

In accordance with the state law and ordinances of the City of Byrnes Mill, MO. notice is given that a general non-partisan election shall be held in the City of Byrnes Mill, Missouri on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 for the duly qualified electors of the City to select one and to select three Aldermen, one from each ward, for a two-year term of office.

Requirements for position of Alderman (RSMo Section 79.070):

79.070. No person shall be an alderman unless he or she is at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year next preceding his or her election, and a resident, at the time he or she files and during the time he or she serves, of the ward from which he or she is elected.

A photo ID will be required for all candidates.

Opening Date for Filing:     Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Closing Date for Filing:       Tuesday, January 16, 2018 (5:00 p.m.)

Declarations of Candidacy may be filed with City Clerk (or her designee), 141 Osage Executive Circle, Byrnes Mill, Missouri between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday, (excluding holidays when City Hall is officially closed) until filing closes at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Names of candidates shall be listed on the ballot in the order in which they are filed.
