The Northwest R-1 School District (NWR1) serves all of Byrnes Mill.  Located in the northwest section of Jefferson County, NWR1 provides educational services from PreK-12. The District consists of one (1) Early Childhood Center, six (6) elementary schools (K-5), two (2) middle schools (6th-8th), and one high school (9th-12th).
